Place Review: BuildBox3

BuildBox3I am not a huge fan of building games, and I don't think they are a huge amount very good. Now BuildBox is a very weird building game. It's not a bad game; the fact that it includes Data Persistence unlike games with building 'baseplates' do. BuildBox is an entirely different type of building game; although it seems extremely simple, it can be pretty fun sometimes.

First of all, this game does feature classic building tools, which allows you to re-live life in the past on ROBLOX. I think this was a great choice of tools because it shows you what ROBLOX was like before they added a stamper; it allows you to re-live it if you were on ROBLOX in that time.

In this game, you spawn in your own area; you get a sort-of vending machine which dispenses parts, like Spheres and Quadrilaterals of such. You have the ability to resize and move and a lot more. This game features Data Persistence of which I predict is very likely to only save in your own area. The Data Persistence allows you to own three different saves, and load one at a time. This is a nice and persistent feature.

The scripting on this game is nice, it's not amazing; the best part is probably the data saving. It's a smooth; simple game. It could have some work done on it, including rather than many tools have one tool controlling the rest. And this game really needs to have a CFraming ability.

You build it yourself!!

Scripting: 6/10
Nice saving.

Overall: 5.5/10
Very nice game.

Place Review: Nuke The Whales

Nuke the Whales_ImageNuke The Whales is a classic game, one of my favourites too! I've been playing this game for years, and it was the first game to showcase the Corner Shadows on; it was an excellent choice of game to use to showcase Corner Shadows because it features a blocky look but still looks like an excellent game.

The first time I played this game, it was very bleak; didn't have many features. Now it includes: a timer; different maps; a rocket launcher and more! It's really changed since I last played it. I think these changes are for the better, however I do like playing more 'classical' games.

The building this game features is pretty smooth; the Whales that are used in this game are very blocky but when you combine them with the ambient shadows you really get a beautiful combination of graphics, it looks really good! I like the 'ol blocky style as much as the next person, although sometimes I do like some beautiful CFrames like 'Asimo3089' or 'LOLFUNNY12345', I think I prefer the blocky style with this game though.

The scripting this game endures is pretty good too. It has some smooth lines of code, allowing the game to move and change to it's own liking (assuming a game has a perspective). I think that Shedletsky's "big change" to this game has really shown I can't believe the difference half a year can make. I think you should play this game; like it too!

This game is an excellent specimen of a good game, and couldn't get any better in my opinion. It's just, amazing!

Building: 10/10
I really do love the blocky-style games.

Scripting: 10/10
